The organization is expanding its sales team in the Greater New York market and is seeking an experienced sales professional to develop contractor relationships, pursue new project opportunities, and drive profitable revenue growth.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Sales Executive to drive new business development and revenue growth throughout the Greater New York market. This individual will be responsible for developing relationships with contractors, consultants, architects, design teams, and other project stakeholders while identifying, pursuing, and securing commercial projects.
This is a field and office-based position for someone who understands project-driven sales, can navigate construction drawings and specifications, and is comfortable taking ownership of opportunities from initial pursuit and bidding through project execution and completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities and expand relationships throughout the assigned market.
- Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, consultants, architects, design teams, and other project stakeholders.
- Identify and convert new and existing leads into profitable projects and long-term customer relationships.
- Develop effective bid strategies to position the company competitively and secure new business.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements to support accurate and profitable proposals.
- Manage opportunities throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial lead and bid development through execution, completion, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate closely with internal teams to ensure projects are properly scoped, executed, and delivered.
- Navigate commercial construction environments including union, prevailing wage, open shop, government, public, and private projects.
- Maintain ownership of multiple active opportunities and projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining bid accuracy.
- Consistently develop new business and expand the overall book of business rather than simply maintaining existing accounts.
Ideal Candidate
- 3–5 years of relevant experience within commercial construction, commercial equipment, foodservice equipment, or another project-driven industry.
- Demonstrated success developing new business, winning projects, and growing customer relationships.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Experience working with general contractors, consultants, architects, design teams, or similar construction stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of the operational and financial considerations involved in managing profitable projects.
- Familiarity with commercial construction environments, including public and private work, union/open shop projects, and prevailing wage requirements.
- Strong sales, negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple bids, projects, deadlines, and customer relationships simultaneously.
- Comfortable working across both field and office environments.
- Starting Base Salary: Approximately $100,000, based on experience.
- Uncapped, tiered commission structure based on sales volume.
