Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) in Detroit, MI is seeking a Commercial Analyst to support pricing strategy, market analysis, and commercial decision-making across domestic and global steel supply chains.

The role involves monitoring market trends, tracking pricing benchmarks, preparing reports and dashboards, and providing pricing inputs for customer quotes and supplier negotiations, with exposure to Power BI and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Admin, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field.
• Strong quantitative and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to identify abnormalities in datasets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Platform.
• Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor market trends and pricing benchmarks.
• Track domestic and export pricing and industry benchmarks.
• Summarize market intelligence for internal stakeholders.
• Analyze buy/sell pricing, spreads and margins across scrap grades/regions.
• Support pricing inputs for quotes and negotiations.
• Develop basic pricing models for deal economics.
• Analyze data related to scrap purchases, sales, shipments and inventory.
• Prepare reports, dashboards and presentations for leadership decisions.
• Identify trends and opportunities within commercial performance data.
• Respond to daily customer and supplier reporting requests.
• Support Purchase and Sale order entry.
• Lead brokerage documentation coordination.
• Assist sales and procurement managers with inventory details.
