Job summary

Tecta America Seattle is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager to support sales and project teams by estimating costs based on project specs and to oversee projects to meet budget, quality, and safety goals.

You will communicate with owners, contractors, and suppliers, lead continuous improvement, and report to the President. The role requires experience in construction estimating and project coordination in the roofing sector.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, college preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of construction industry experience with emphasis on all facets of business including customer relations.
• Planning & organizing; problem identification/resolution, multi-tasking, follow-through to closure.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and visit actual job sites about 50% of the time (heights).
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and establish objectives and goals for projects assigned.
• Estimate job costs and submit proposals for review.

• Review and approve invoices, material slips, purchase orders, contracts, and proposals to verify accuracy

• Resolve disputes with clients and past due accounts efficiently
• Maintain and protect all company equipment, vehicles, and policies
• Track labor and material costs of jobs
• Field customer requests, questions and complaints
• Oversee commercial roofing production crews
• Develop leads and promote the department's services
• Review purchase orders, contracts, and proposals for scope and policy compliance
• Purchase materials and maintain department inventory

Description

Tecta America Seattle, a commercial roofing contractor, provides a full range of roofing services, including commercial and industrial roofing, re-roofs, leak repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and 24/7 service. In addition, we offer roofing services in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

The Estimator/Project Manager will provide comprehensive support to sales and project teams through estimation of costs based on specifications established by the project. The Estimator/Project Manager will effectively communicate with sales and project teams by providing information, answering questions and assisting local contacts with questions and concerns.
Once estimating is complete and sale is made, the estimator/project manager will oversee all aspects of the project to achieve and maintain budgetary, productivity, quality, and safety initiatives. This position will be responsible for leading and promoting continuous improvement initiatives and process improvement techniques. This position will report to the President.

• Submit budget and capital expenditure requests as needed.
• Work with prime and subcontractors on all phases of projects including schedules, change orders, and submittals.
• Direct customer questions, complaints, and requests appropriately. Perform field inspections and investigations as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential)

Working Conditions

Physical surroundings: Office and field environment with typical office machines and exposure to noise and temperature as well as exposure to typical hazards of jobsite, including ladders, construction materials, etc.
Physical Effort: Extensive sitting, standing, walking, climbing ladders. Repetitive keying, typing. Occasional lifting not to exceed 50 pounds.
Domestic Travel: Occasional, for purposes of training in operating units
Extensive Hours: Not subject to overtime

Starting pay ranges from $75k-90k, based on experience and qualifications.
