Job summary

Tecta America East LLC – Jessup location is seeking a Commercial Roofing Service Estimator/Project Manager to lead estimating, bidding, and project execution for commercial roofing and related services in the Jessup, MD area.

The role requires reviewing plans, securing vendor pricing, analyzing labor needs, and developing competitive bid proposals. PM duties include managing projects from pre-construction to closeout and maintaining project documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of commercial roofing estimating experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a pre-employment Background Check, Drug Test and be E-Verified.
• Knowledge of roof systems and assemblies.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.

Responsibilities

• Produce project estimates for commercial roofing, waterproofing, and sheet metal service projects.
• Estimates job costs and submits proposals for review.
• Tracks submitted bid proposals and negotiates to maximize award rate.
• Reviews proposals and contracts to ensure alignment with scope and policy.
• Develops prequalification and technical proposal packages.
• Gathers subcontractor bids and incorporates them into bid proposals.
• Manage awarded contracts from pre-construction to closeout.

We are seeking a Commercial Roofing Service Estimator/Project Manager for our Jessup, MD location.

The Commercial Roofing Service Estimator/Project Manager will be responsible for estimating and bidding projects with a complete and comprehensive review of project plans and specifications.Estimator is required to secure vendor and subcontractor pricing, communicate and analyze project labor requirements, and develop competitive bid proposals. Upon award, Estimator/Project Manager will manage the project through successful completion.

Job Functions (includes):

• Produces project estimates for commercial roofing, waterproofing, and sheet metal service projects.
• Estimates job costs and submits proposals for review.
• Tracks submitted bid proposals, provides best and final offers, and negotiates as required to achieve a high project award rate.
• Reviews and approves proposals and contracts to verify that they do not compromise company policy or exceed intended scope of work.
• Develop detailed prequalification and technical proposal packages.
• Gathers and incorporates subcontractor bids into Tecta’s bid proposal as applicable for the project.
• Develop and maintain business relationships to broaden Tecta’s bidding pool.
• Attend trade events, lunch-and-learn seminars, and trade organization meetings to further develop trade industry relationships.
• Manage all aspects of awarded contracts through pre-construction to close out.
• Review scopes of work, contracts, and specifications to confirm alignment with project requirements.
• Monitor project schedules, labor utilization, material usage, and overall cost performance
• Manage multiple service projects concurrently, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion
• When required, collect subcontractor bids and develop and execute subcontractor documentation.
• Maintain project documentation including change orders, submittals, drawings, and closeout materials.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, college degree a plus.
• Minimum of three (3) years of commercial roofing estimating experiencerequired.
• Critical skills include planning & organizing; problem identification/resolution, attention to detail, multi-tasking, follow-through, priority setting, and accomplishing tasks in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of various roof manufacturers’ system requirements and assemblies
• Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
• Prior Project Management experience a plus, but not required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to clearly convey concepts, assumptions, and thought patterns used to develop specific estimates and bid letters.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment Background Check, Drug Test and be E-Verified.

Salary starting at $75,000 and up, dependent upon experience.
