Job summary

CoolSys, a leading indoor environment solutions company based in Southern California, is seeking a Service Technician to repair and overhaul refrigeration, HVAC, and related systems for diverse customers including retail and food service locations. The role emphasizes safe, timely service, preventative maintenance, and documentation of work history.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of commercial refrigeration experience, EPA certification, and a willingness to travel or be on-call.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• EPA certification is required.
• Vocational/technical or trade school certification is a plus.
• Minimum 2+ years of commercial refrigeration experience.
• Experience with refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with rack systems, display cases, and walk-in boxes is helpful.
• Must have a good driving record and work independently.
• Emergency on-call availability is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and stand/sit for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Repair and overhaul refrigeration, HVAC, and related equipment to meet customer needs.
• Repair and overhaul equipment such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and control devices.
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
• Test malfunctioning systems and document work history.
• Process job tickets and work orders for relevant departments.
• Assist with pickup, delivery, and installation of cases.
• Work on minor construction or remodeling projects and startups of new installations.
• Operate company vehicle safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
