At Kalos Services, our Commercial Refrigeration team is known for delivering high-quality installations for major retailers and commercial clients across Central Florida. We’re now hiring a Start-Up Technician who can take our projects across the finish line by powering up, testing, and verifying complex refrigeration systems so they're ready for smooth, long-term operation.

This is a field-based role for a detail-oriented refrigeration pro who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and ensuring every detail is correct before handoff.

Compensation: $28 - $35 hourly based on experience

Schedule: Will fluctuate depending on projects and work load, but will usually be between 40/50 plus hours per week. Some night work and on call will be required.

Responsibilities

• Power up and commission new commercial refrigeration systems (rack systems, walk-ins, reach-ins, etc.)
• Program setpoints and verify functionality for all major control systems (Emerson, CPC, Danfoss, etc.)
• Perform pressure and leak tests, electrical checks, and refrigerant charge adjustments Diagnose and correct any start-up issues with electrical, piping, or mechanical components
• Ensure all systems meet manufacturer specs and job requirements before turnover
• Document start-up conditions, commissioning data, and punch list items
• Collaborate with installation crews, controls technicians, and project managers
• Help ensure a smooth transition to service/maintenance teams
  
  

Requirements

• 2+ years of commercial refrigeration installation, service, or start-up experience
• Strong knowledge of rack refrigeration, condensers, evaporators, and controls
• Ability to troubleshoot and tune superheat, subcooling, airflow, and refrigerant charge
• Comfortable reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• EPA 608 Certification (Required)
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record Willingness to travel regionally to job sites (per diem provided when applicable)
