Job summary

RSC Mechanical is seeking experienced Refrigeration Service Technicians to install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems across customer sites. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy in reporting, and strong customer service for restaurants, grocery stores, hotels, and institutions.

Candidates should have EPA Universal Certification, a clean driving record, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; extensive driving is a key part of the role.
• Experience and working knowledge of HVAC and commercial refrigeration preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Technicians are expected to supply their own standard hand tools.
• Ability to complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Strong communication skills with clients, team members, and management.
• Able to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
• Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
• Indoor/outdoor work with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, hazards, and weather.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent driving of motor vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and service commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
• Respond to emergency service calls as needed.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control systems with confidence and precision.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on commercial refrigeration systems.
• Prioritize safety by securing work areas and shutting down power when necessary.
• Handle and manage refrigerants safely in compliance with EPA regulations.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics.
• Repair and replace compressors, motors, fans, and other components.
• Provide professional service during emergency calls.
• Work with EMS systems, including CPC, Tracer, and HMI.
• Collaborate with customers, dispatch, and technicians to ensure a seamless service experience.
• Accurately log service reports using mobile/digital platforms.
• Communicate professionally with store managers, supervisors, and team members.
• Complete paperwork, including work tickets and timesheets, accurately and on time.
• Deliver high-level customer service to retail/commercial clients (restaurants, grocery stores, etc.).
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
