Job summary

Douglas County Assessor/Register of Deeds Office in Omaha, NE seeks an incumbent to support residential and commercial property appraisal. You will conduct property inspections, take measurements, and collect data on real estate sales, new construction, and building permits for renovations.

You will transfer field data to property records and assist in evaluating blueprints, maps, and contracts. The position requires a high school diploma, two years in real estate appraisal or related fields,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of experience in real estate appraisal, assessment, sales, brokerage and/or real estate construction preferred but substitutions allowed on a year-for-year basis.
• Proficiency with MS Office required.
• Valid driver’s license upon hire and throughout employment required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical inspections of properties, take measurements, and collect data on real estate sales, new construction and building permits.
• Transfer field data to property record files after site inspections.
• Review blueprints, schematics, maps, plats, mortgages and contracts to determine valuations.
• Determine property classification of structures and assist in inspecting new construction or alterations.
• Update property records to reflect value changes and maintain legible permanent records.
