Job summary

Staff Financial Group, a Georgia-based commercial real estate owner and developer, is seeking a hands-on Controller for a fully remote role supporting Metro Atlanta properties and affiliates.

You will own cross-entity accounting, close cycles, and investor reporting, collaborating directly with ownership and guiding complex allocations and CAM reconciliations.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in commercial real estate.
• Partnership accounting, owner and investor reporting, and waterfall calculations.
• MRI and/or Yardi experience with advanced Excel.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and full-cycle accounting, including month-end close.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting across properties, ownership entities, partnerships, and development company.
• Lead month-end close, financial reporting, and investor packages.
• Prepare partnership allocations, waterfall calculations and CAM reconciliations.
• Oversee development and intercompany accounting, working closely with ownership.

An established commercial real estate ownership and development company (Metro Atlanta, GA – fully remote) is hiring a hands‑on Controller. Its portfolio includes grocery-anchored retail centers, restaurants, and mixed‑use properties. The company is planning for succession in its accounting team, so this is a long‑term opportunity.

You’ll own full‑cycle accounting across the properties, the ownership entities and partnerships, and an affiliated development company. That covers month‑end close, financial reporting, owner and investor packages, partnership allocations, waterfall calculations and distributions, CAM reconciliations, and development and intercompany accounting. You’ll work directly with ownership.

This role suits someone who likes doing the detailed work themselves, not only reviewing others’ work. A CPA and a public accounting background are a plus.

Must-haves:

• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in commercial real estate
