Job summary

Orion Placement in Michigan is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Associate Attorney to join our growing real estate team and handle acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, and financing with mentorship. You will draft and negotiate real estate agreements, review due diligence, and coordinate with clients, lenders, and colleagues on sophisticated deals.

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active Michigan Bar license.
• 1+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, or negotiating commercial real estate agreements.
• Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Commercial leasing, acquisition, disposition, development, or real estate financing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development and financing transactions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, and other real estate contracts.
• Assist with transactions from initial structuring and due diligence through negotiation and closing.
• Review title commitments, surveys, zoning issues, environmental reports, and other due diligence materials.
• Identify potential legal and business risks and recommend practical solutions.
• Communicate directly with clients, lenders, developers, and other transaction participants.
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys across real estate, corporate, and related practice areas.
• Take on increasing ownership of transactions as you develop your experience and expertise.
