Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their client’s team in Chesterfield on a permanent basis. The role focuses on managing the commercial side of construction projects, from cost planning through to final account, ensuring projects stay on budget and financially sound.

You will work with project managers, site teams, designers and subcontractors, taking responsibility for package management, procurement negotiation and presenting clear commercial information to colleagues

Qualifications

Degree in quantity surveying or related discipline.
Experience as a quantity surveyor in main contracting or similar.
Knowledge of standard forms of construction contract (JCT/NEC).

Responsibilities

Manage commercial and cost aspects of construction projects from pre-construction to completion.
Prepare cost plans, estimates, budgets and cost reports.
Procure subcontract and supply packages including tender enquiries, evaluation and negotiation.
Prepare and agree interim valuations, payment applications and certificates.
Administer subcontracts including variations and change control.
Monitor costs against budget and forecast final account position.
Identify commercial risks and opportunities and report to senior management.
Prepare and negotiate final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
Attend site and project meetings with site teams, designers and clients.
