Job Function / Summary:

Working under the direct supervision of a Portfolio Group Manager, Senior Group Sales Manager or Market President, the Commercial Portfolio Manager 2 is a member of the Credit Delivery Team, including Relationship Managers, Commercial Client Administrators, market leadership, and credit officers. The role involves credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management of a diverse portfolio primarily consisting of Wholesale Banking relationships across various industries. Responsibilities include managing loan products like lines of credit, term notes, real estate, and ancillary products, as well as identifying growth opportunities and cross-selling bank products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Partner with RMs, market leadership, and credit officers to originate, monitor, and grow profitable relationships.
  2. Perform due diligence, credit analysis, underwriting, and prepare credit approval packages for loans and modifications.
  3. Manage the portfolio, monitor risks, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  4. Ensure accurate documentation and monitor loan agreement compliance.
  5. Conduct annual reviews of client financials and risk ratings.
  6. Communicate effectively with internal partners throughout the underwriting process.
  7. Participate in client/prospect calls to understand their business.
Additional Duties:
  1. Assist in preparing opportunity memos for new clients.
  2. Serve as a liaison for clients and internal teams.
  3. Participate in credit request discussions and presentations.
  4. Assist with client servicing and documentation reviews.
  5. Conduct industry and market analysis for credit evaluation.
  6. Stay informed of economic conditions and regulations.
  7. Review and monitor loan documents and client performance.
  8. Coordinate with RM and CCA to resolve documentation issues.
  9. Report risk assessment changes and prepare Watch Reports as needed.
  10. Support special projects and respond to credit reviews.
  11. Develop underwriting skills and support team members.
  12. Safeguard client information and ensure compliance with bank policies and laws.
  13. Report regulatory or procedural issues and recommend cross-sell opportunities.
  14. Participate in community or industry activities annually.

Minimum Education, Experience & Knowledge:
  1. Bachelor's degree required; preferred in Business, Finance, or related fields.
  2. 3+ years in banking, credit analysis, or related experience.
  3. Credit analysis training or certification preferred.
  4. Excellent communication, analytical, and financial skills.
  5. Knowledge of banking products, loan documentation, and regulatory guidelines.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
  7. Strong organizational, customer service, and presentation skills.
  8. Understanding of macro/microeconomic issues and risk concepts.
Essential Mental & Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work under stress, meet deadlines, and travel.
  • Ability to lift/move approximately 25 pounds, with accommodations if necessary.
