Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States seeks an experienced insurance professional to manage mid-to-large commercial accounts, including new business and renewals, exposure analysis, and proposal preparation.

You will negotiate with carriers, develop marketing strategies, and collaborate with client advisors and markets to optimize outcomes while maintaining licensing and pursuing professional designations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant insurance experience with mid-to-large commercial placements.
  • Must currently hold an applicable insurance license.
  • Experience with a broker/agent marketing large middle market accounts to carriers.
  • Excellent knowledge of insurance markets and coverages.
  • Proficient with MS Office including Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Applied Epic is a plus.
  • College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute key components of new business and renewal processes for mid-to-large commercial insurance accounts.
  • Maintain timelines and processes, including exposure analysis, quote specifications, coverage-offer analysis and negotiation, and proposal preparation and presentation.
  • Create and execute marketing strategies for selected accounts.
  • Evaluate large deductible programs and captive structures.
  • Strategize and build insurance towers for selected accounts.
  • Exercise independent judgment in placement with alternative carriers.
  • Conduct year-end book reviews for selected accounts.
  • Collaborate with Client Advisors, Account Service Teams, carrier partners, and markets.
  • Participate in client-facing discussions on marketing strategy and placement outcomes.
  • Review insurance policies and contracts and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare property and casualty insurance submissions, ACORD applications, loss summaries, prospect profiles, and exposure schedules.
  • Analyze exposure and loss data in Excel and develop financial models for loss-sensitive programs.
  • Maintain relationships with insurance companies and wholesalers and monitor carrier appetites and market trends.
  • Use carrier systems and comparative rating tools for quoting and proposal development.
  • Maintain licensing requirements, including continuing education.
  • Attend seminars, company meetings, carrier events, and educational activities.
  • Perform coverage gap analysis and provide strategic coverage recommendations.
  • Work independently and on special, ongoing, and nonrecurring projects.
  • Identify opportunities to engage Risk Resources for specialized expertise.

Job description

Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant insurance experience, with an emphasis on mid-to-large commercial account placements
  • Must currently hold an applicable insurance license
  • Experience with a broker/agent, including marketing large middle market accounts to carriers
  • Excellent knowledge of insurance markets
  • Strong knowledge of all basic applicable insurance coverages
  • Excellent phone etiquette, written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong critical thinking, financial analysis, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to analyze complex market data and influence placement outcomes
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and accept direction on given assignments
  • Proficient with MS Office products, including high knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Experience with Applied Epic is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure document accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong customer service skills
  • Proficient in creating required proposal presentation documents
  • Pursuit of a professional designation (CRM, CISR, CIC, AAI, ARM, CPCU) preferred
  • College degree preferred
