- Manage and execute key components of new business and renewal processes for mid-to-large commercial insurance accounts
- Maintain timelines and processes, including exposure analysis, quote specifications, coverage-offer analysis and negotiation, and proposal preparation and presentation
- Create and execute marketing strategies for selected accounts
- Evaluate large deductible programs and captive structures
- Strategize and build insurance towers for selected accounts
- Exercise independent judgment in placement with alternative carriers
- Conduct year-end book reviews for selected accounts
- Collaborate with Client Advisors, Account Service Teams, carrier partners, and markets
- Participate in client-facing discussions on marketing strategy and placement outcomes
- Review insurance policies and contracts and recommend improvements
- Prepare property and casualty insurance submissions, ACORD applications, loss summaries, prospect profiles, and exposure schedules
- Analyze exposure and loss data in Excel and develop financial models for loss-sensitive programs
- Maintain relationships with insurance companies and wholesalers and monitor carrier appetites and market trends
- Use carrier systems and comparative rating tools for quoting and proposal development
- Maintain licensing requirements, including continuing education
- Attend seminars, company meetings, carrier events, and educational activities
- Perform coverage gap analysis and provide strategic coverage recommendations
- Work independently and on special, ongoing, and nonrecurring projects
- Identify opportunities to engage Risk Resources for specialized expertise
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant insurance experience, with an emphasis on mid-to-large commercial account placements
- Must currently hold an applicable insurance license
- Experience with a broker/agent, including marketing large middle market accounts to carriers
- Excellent knowledge of insurance markets
- Strong knowledge of all basic applicable insurance coverages
- Excellent phone etiquette, written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong critical thinking, financial analysis, and negotiation skills
- Ability to analyze complex market data and influence placement outcomes
- Able to work with minimum supervision and accept direction on given assignments
- Proficient with MS Office products, including high knowledge of Excel and Word
- Experience with Applied Epic is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail to ensure document accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong customer service skills
- Proficient in creating required proposal presentation documents
- Pursuit of a professional designation (CRM, CISR, CIC, AAI, ARM, CPCU) preferred
- College degree preferred
