Job summary

RQ Construction, LLC is hiring several commercial Pipefitters for ongoing work at Naval Station Norfolk, VA. All work is performed on the military base and paid at the Davis-Bacon prevailing wage.

Local candidates within a reasonable commute are encouraged to apply. As a Pipefitter, you will plan, assemble, and install piping systems on an active site, support start-up of boilers and chillers, and build to code per project specs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of journeyman-level pipefitting experience in commercial, industrial, or facilities operations settings (government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred)
• Hands-on mechanical pipe installation experience
• Current welding certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Plan, assemble, and install piping systems on an active commercial construction site
• Install mechanical piping, including underground piping
• Support start-up and energizing of mechanical equipment such as boilers and chillers
• Build to code and project specifications, using the right equipment and tools

Since 1996, RQ Construction, LLC has been a leading commercial and governmental design-build firm. Today we have a national presence, with projects from coast to coast. Our field operations teams live and work on location for each project. We specialize in fast-track new commercial construction for public and private clients, with a primary focus on the Department of Defense market.

We're hiring several commercial Pipefitters to join our self-perform team for ongoing work at Naval Station Norfolk, VA. All work is performed on the military base and paid at the Davis-Bacon prevailing wage for Naval Station Norfolk. Local candidates within a reasonable commute are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

• Plan, assemble, and install piping systems on an active commercial construction site
• Install mechanical piping, including underground piping
• Support start-up and energizing of mechanical equipment such as boilers and chillers
• Build to code and project specifications, using the right equipment and tools
• Follow RQ's safety practices on every task, in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED
• 4+ years of journeyman-level pipefitting experience in commercial, industrial, or facilities operations settings (government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred)
• Hands-on mechanical pipe installation experience
• Underground piping experience
• Start-up and energizing experience (boilers, chillers)
• Current welding certification
• CPR, First Aid, and OSHA-10 certifications (we can provide training if you don't have them yet)
• Valid pipefitter license or journeyman card (preferred)
