Job summary

RQ Construction is seeking an experienced Commercial Pipefitter to join our Mechanical team on projects in Jacksonville, FL, including NAS Mayport. Work involves laying out, assembling, and installing piping systems on active construction sites in accordance with codes and specs.

You will use proper tools, follow safety procedures, and contribute to DoD projects. Prevailing wage at DoD sites applies; compensation is hourly.

Qualifications

Job description

Commercial Pipefitter - Jacksonville, FL (NAS Mayport)

RQ is currently seeking experienced Pipefitters to join our Mechanical team supporting projects in Jacksonville, Florida. All work is performed on military installations and is compensated according to Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements applicable to each site.

Pipefitters in this role will be responsible for laying out, assembling, and installing piping systems on active construction sites. This includes ensuring all work complies with applicable codes, specifications, and quality standards. The position requires strong technical knowledge of pipefitting practices, along with the proper use of tools and equipment. All work must be performed in accordance with established safety procedures and in alignment with RQ’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Our field teams work directly on-site throughout the U.S., ensuring projects are executed efficiently and successfully.

We focus on fast-paced, ground-up commercial construction for both public and private clients, with a primary emphasis on Department of Defense (DoD) projects.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Pay: $51.59 - $53.00

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• At least 4 years of experience (or equivalent) working as a journeyman-level pipefitter in commercial construction or facility operations
• Experience on government, military, or large-scale commercial projects is preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical pipe installation
• Background in deep underground piping work
• Experience with system startup and commissioning, including boilers and chillers
• Valid pipefitter license or journeyman certification
• Current welding certification
• CPR, First Aid, and OSHA-10 certifications
