Job summary

National Coatings is seeking a commercial painter to deliver high-quality coating applications on new construction and existing structures. You will prepare surfaces, mix and apply paints and coatings, and ensure finishes meet quality standards on client sites.

Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and reliable transportation are essential, as is adherence to safety procedures on a variety of projects across commercial facilities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a commercial painter.
• Experience in exterior and interior commercial painting preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation: priming, sanding, sealing, patching with various paints and finishes.
• Color Matching: verify colors to match job files.
• Apply materials to new, existing, and remodeled buildings with precision.
• Represent the company professionally at client job sites.
• Interpret blueprints and scope specs for accurate execution.
• Complete required reports in a timely manner.
• Understand and process field change orders and submittals.
• Operate multi-level scaffolding, extension ladders, and spray systems.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned trucks in good condition.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces by priming, sanding, sealing, and patching, utilizing a variety of painting materials including varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, waterproofing, and heat-resistant finishes.
• Color Matching: Cross-check colors and confirm supplied products to match job files.
• Application Skills: Apply materials to new construction, existing, and remodeled buildings with precision and expertise.
• Professional Representation: Exhibit a professional demeanor and effectively represent the company while working at client job sites.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Understand and interpret blueprints and scope specifications to ensure accurate execution of painting tasks.
• Documentation: Complete required reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Change Orders: Understand the importance of and proficiently complete field change orders and submittals.
• Equipment Proficiency: Trained and capable with multi-level scaffolding, extension ladders, and spray systems.
• Maintenance: Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned trucks, ensuring they are in optimal condition; always keep a clean and safe work area.
• Extensive Knowledge: Possess and apply in-depth knowledge of various painting materials and application methods.

Experience And Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a commercial painter - experience in both exterior and interior commercial painting, wallcoverings, and coatings highly preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
