Commercial Manager
York, PA

Summary: The Commercial and Contract Manager is responsible for all contractual aspects of a project from the offer stage to the successful completion of the contract. This includes risk identification, assessment and mitigation as well as claim management.

In this role, the candidate must be able to work effectively and accurately across multiple topics at the same time, organizing and setting task priority while building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

    • Reviews Sales contracts. Identifies and assesses risks during the offer stage and advises the organization such that suitable actions can be implemented to minimize the identified risks.
    • Makes sure that all contractual conditions of the tender are fully understood, analyzed and assessed.
    • Guides the Project Team during the project execution phase for all contractual and commercial topics by developing strategies and providing recommendations to limit, restrict and (or) transfer company risk exposure.
    • Acts as the contact person to customers and suppliers regarding contractual topics.
    • Supports project management in identification and preparation of claims, develops claim and negotiation strategy based on profound contract knowledge and liaison with internal and external counsel.
    • Manages issuance and maintenance of required contractual securities (bonds, letters of credit, parent company guarantee, etc.) and insurance policies related to the contracts.
    • Insures a positive cash flow in project execution.

Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal or related areas.
    • 5+ years of experience in contract and risk management.
    • Ability to deal with complex business scenarios and different contract structures.
    • Excellent analytical and cross-functional skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal skills.
    • Knowledge of contractual claims and negotiation practices are preferred.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
