Job summary

e-STORAGE, part of the Canadian Solar family, seeks a Senior Commercial Manager (German-speaking) to own and lead commercial negotiations for BESS projects across EMEA. You will drive tender responses, contract strategies, and cost analyses, collaborating with procurement and suppliers to grow the execution pipeline.

The role requires fluent English and German, a related bachelor’s degree, and proven experience in energy sector commercial contracts. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Engineering, Finance or equivalent.
• Strong experience in commercial contract negotiations and tender management in the energy sector.
• Fluent in English and German (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Own and lead customer and sub-contractor contract negotiations for equipment, services and EPC contracts with internal/external stakeholders.
• Own and lead commercial tender responses and competitive bid processes for projects in EMEA.
• Analyze commercial and legal aspects of Customer RFIs to develop competitive submissions.
• Support the execution team in delivering BESS projects; ensure contracts are managed commercially.
• Define tender strategies with procurement and evaluate bid results.
• Capture competitive intelligence and provide insights on the supply chain and BESS landscape.
• Identify opportunities to improve and develop best-in-class business processes.

TheSeniorCommercialManagerwillplayacriticalroleinourrapidlygrowingBatteryEnergyStorageSystem(BESS)teamandourexpansionwithinEMEA.TheSr.CommercialManagerwillownandleadthecommercialRFP&competitivebidprocesses,thenegotiationofcontractswithcontractors&suppliers,conductcostanalysisandmakestrategicdecisionsforprojectsranginginscopeandcomplexityforassignedprojects.

PrimaryResponsibilities:

• OwnandleadtheCustomerandsub-contractorcontractnegotiationphaseforequipment,servicesandEPCcontractsbycollaboratingwithkeyinternalandexternalstakeholderstoidentifyandmitigaterisks;
• OwnandleadthecommercialtenderresponseandcompetitivebidprocessesforprojectswithinEMEA,analyzingcommercialandlegalaspectsofCustomerRFPstodevelopacompetitivesubmissiontocontinuetogrowtheexecutionpipeline;
• SupporttheexecutionteaminthedeliveryofourBESSprojects,ensuringcontractsaremanagedinacommerciallysensiblemanner;
• Workwiththeprocurementteamtodefinetenderstrategiesandrequirementsforoursub-contractsandevaluatebidresults;
• WorkwithsupplychaintocapturecompetitiveintelligenceandgenerateinsightsonsupplychainandBESSlandscape;
• Activelyidentifyopportunitiestoimproveanddevelopbestinclassbusinessprocesseswhichsupportcontinuousimprovementofthebusiness;and
• Assistinteambuildinginitiatives,onboardingnewtalentandfindingnewmemberstogrowtheteam.

Qualifications&Requirements:

• Bachelor’sdegreeinarelatedfieldsuchasLaw,Business,EngineeringorFinanceoranequivalentfielddegreeorworkexperience;
• Strongexperienceincommercialcontractnegotiationsandtendermanagementintheenergysector;
• Proficientinworkingwithstandardindustrycontractforms,e.g.FIDIC,NEC,JCTetc.;
• FluentinEnglishandGermanisrequired, (speakingandwriting)
• Abilitytoformopinionsandtakecriticaldecisionsinthefaceoflimitedorconflictingdataandundertimepressure;
• WillingnessandabilitytotraveltoattendindustryeventsandbothteamandCustomermeetings;
