Job summary

WesBanco Bank Inc. in Fort Wayne, IN seeks a Credit Administrator to oversee a portfolio of troubled commercial and CRE credits, developing strategies to minimize losses and protect the bank’s interests.

The role requires thorough knowledge of commercial underwriting and collection practices, with the ability to negotiate remediation plans with borrowers, coordinate with management and legal counsel, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and bank policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field and 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Commercial Banking, Portfolio Management or Loan Review strongly preferred.
• Prior commercial workout experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews loan files upon assignment to understand the transaction and circumstances.
• Takes appropriate action to enforce the bank's rights or position with respect to the loan and collateral.
• Discusses issues with supervisor, management, and/or legal counsel to develop strategies and solutions.
• Documents loan files with respect to actions taken and pertaining to each assigned account.
• Works with third parties when appropriate to dispose of collateral.
• Directs the activities of commercial banking officers on accounts handled on a shared responsibility basis.
• Reviews, analyzes and interprets financial statements, cash flow and personal financial statement analysis to assess borrower strength.
• Responds to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations relating to collections and workouts and ensures policy compliance.
• Develops and implements credit administration strategies to minimize potential losses.
• Works with management to ensure accounts are managed in accordance with Bank's Credit Policy and laws.
• Other duties may be assigned.
