Job summary

Plains State Bank is seeking a Loan Account Specialist to handle loan accounting for our serviced portfolio. You will book loans to the core system, perform transaction research, reconcile to the general ledger, and resolve discrepancies while supporting multiple loan operations functions.

The role requires 2+ years in loan operations, strong knowledge of commercial loan documentation, and excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business/finance preferred or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of loan operations experience.
• Strong working knowledge of commercial loan documentation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up customers and book loans to the core system in accordance with loan agreements and internal processes.
• Perform loan account research, quality maintenance and resolve discrepancies.
• Review daily file maintenance reports and correct as needed.
• Reconcile loan-related general ledger accounts.
• Process funding requests within loan guidelines and verify availability.
• Process investor reporting, remittances and month-end reconciliations on participated loans.
• Post payments manually when applicable.
• Validate loan and portfolio codes for accurate data entry.
• Scan and index loan documents to the image system.
• Escalate critical issues to management.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with loan policy, regulatory guidelines, risk controls, standards, procedures and forms.
