Job summary

Fsbtnd is seeking a full-time Commercial Loan Officer in Williston. You will work with the Chief Lending Officer to evaluate and recommend loan applications, while servicing existing loans and generating new business.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience. Strong communication and sales skills are a must, along with proficiency in Excel.

Job description

Commercial Loan Officer will work under the direction of the Chief Lending Officer to examine, evaluate, and recommend approval of customer applications for commercial credit loans. The CommercialLoan Officer shallbe responsible forservicing the bank’s existing commercial loan portfolio as well as generating new commercial loan business for the bank.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Primarily processes commercial credit loans
  • Interviews applicants and requests specific information for loan applications
  • Requests applicant’s credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other information pertinent to loan applicant’s evaluation
  • Calls or writes credit bureau and employer to verify accuracy of information
  • Analyzes applicant’s financial status, credit, and property evaluation todeterminefeasibility of granting loan orsubmitsapplication to credit analyst for verification and recommendation
  • Corresponds with or interviews applicants to resolve questionsregardingapplication information
  • Calls specified companies to obtain property abstract, survey, and appraisal
  • Ensures all title issues are met and that loan is property recorded
  • Reviews and analyzes title report or survey todetermineissues and any present or potential risk
  • Notifies customers of approval or prepares adverse action form for loan processor to complete and mail out
  • Approves loans within specified limits or refers loan to loan committee for approval
  • Compiles loan package andfacilitatenegotiation of loan structure with applicants, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms
  • Ensures loan agreements and loan files arecompleteandaccurateaccording to loan policy
  • Assurestimelyloan closing and funding activities
  • Assistscustomer in completingall required documentation and disclosures
  • Ensures customer understandsconditions and terms of account
  • Analyzes potential loan markets to develop prospects for loans
  • Responds to customer inquiries including payment questions, payoffs, and loan values
  • Originates loan correspondence
  • Maintains proper correspondence and legal files
  • Explains, promotes, and cross sells other bank products and services
  • Participates in bank’s loan committee meeting and other committee meetings as assigned
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Type of Position

This is a full-time position with hours and days ofwork from8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may berequiredas job duties demand. Qualifications
Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or three years’ experience in related field

Highly motivated self-starter with sales skills to promote bank products

Proficient in Excel & Microsoft Word

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Travel Requirements

Travel will berequiredwith this position from time to time. Customer calls to existing customers or prospective customers mayrequiretravel outside of the Williston area. Additionaltraining may also require travel. Bank provides companyvehiclesfor required travel or mileage reimbursement.
