Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from ABA-accredited law school.
• 5 years of relevant legal experience.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and legal analysis skills.
• Experience providing practical, solution oriented legal advice.
• Comfort operating in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
• Strong communication skills and responsiveness to tasks and shifting priorities.
• Ability to collaborate and work cohesively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day legal advice and guidance to business partners.
• Support department leadership on complex or escalated matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and legal documents.
• Partner with business stakeholders to support execution of TJU initiatives.
• Identify legal risks and elevate issues appropriately.
• Manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining quality and responsiveness.
• Investigates facts and circumstances relating to actual or threatened disputes and manages litigation matters as assigned.
• Liaise between Jefferson Office of Legal Affairs, internal stakeholders and outside counsel regarding disputes and litigation matters.
• Coordinate and oversee discovery efforts, including preservation, holds, and compliance.
• Review pleadings and discovery documents.
• Assist in developing litigation strategies and risk assessments.
• Draft correspondence and litigation-related memoranda.
• Interface with claimants, opposing parties, counsel, witnesses, and experts.
• Collaborate with business leaders to communicate about open matters and mitigate risk.
• Maintain litigation records and support matter management systems.
