Position Overview
A Princeton-based business law firm is seeking a Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney to handle sophisticated business disputes and serve as a trusted legal adviser to closely held companies and their owners.
This is a partner-track opportunity for an experienced attorney seeking meaningful client interaction, autonomy in managing matters, and the opportunity to build a long-term legal practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage commercial litigation matters from pre-suit strategy through discovery, motion practice, settlement, trial preparation, and appeal as appropriate.
- Represent businesses and business owners in complex commercial disputes.
- Advise clients regarding contracts, operating agreements, leases, and other business-related matters.
- Develop litigation strategies and provide practical legal guidance to clients.
- Handle client communications and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Prepare matters for settlement, mediation, and trial.
- Manage cases effectively while maintaining high-quality legal work and client service.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in corporate and/or commercial litigation.
- Active New Jersey Bar license required.
- Strong experience handling commercial/business disputes.
- Experience with contracts, operating agreements, leases, and closely held businesses is highly valued.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage complex litigation matters.
- Strong judgment, organization, and client-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an in-person, collaborative environment.
