Position

Position: Commercial Litigation Attorney

Location: Hybrid in Miami, Boca Raton, Orlando, Jacksonville, or Tampa

Practice Group: Commercial Litigation (FL)

Position Overview

If you possess a strong work ethic and want to work in a Commercial litigation practice group, this may be the opportunity for you!

This is a hybrid position in any of our Florida offices: Miami, Boca Raton, Tampa, Orlando, or Jacksonville.

Job Requirements
  • Florida bar license in good standing
  • JD from an ABA-approved law school
  • 2-10+ years of civil defense litigation experience, preferably in Commercial Litigation, Business Litigation, Breach of Contract Actions, Breach of Fiduciary Duty Cases, Professional Negligence Actions, Derivative Actions, or Tortious Interference
  • Experience managing up to 30 cases at once, taking and defending depositions, appearance in court, drafting motions and discovery; mediation and trial experience a plus; mentoring junior associates a plus
  • Computer skills: basic knowledge of computer operation, internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing; Microsoft products preferred
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, with strong client communication skills
  • Oral communication: clear, persuasive, and able to participate effectively in meetings
  • Written communication: clear and accurate writing, proofreading, and ability to present data
  • Temperament: ability to work with little supervision, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
  • Ethics: maintain client and firm confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical rules
Job Responsibilities
  • Draft/review and respond to petitions/complaints, motions, and written discovery
  • Attend hearings and meetings with clients
  • Prepare for and attend depositions
  • Assist with preparation for and participation in mediation and trial
  • Willingness and ability to bill
  • Other duties as assigned
