Job summary

McMichael Taylor Gray, LLC is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with experience in New York foreclosure matters to join its expanding New York practice. The ideal candidate must be based in New York and capable of handling high-volume commercial foreclosure work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities include oversight of statewide foreclosure matters, liaising with clients and vendors, drafting pleadings, and appearing at hearings or auctions as needed.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice in New York.
• Experience in real estate, mortgage and/or commercial litigation strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, and related debt collection/real property law a plus.
• Experience in foreclosure and real estate law a plus; if none, willingness to learn.
• Exceptional communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document drafting.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Commitment to ethical standards and client confidentiality.
• A portable book of business is a plus.

• Act as a liaison between the firm and clients, vendors, outside counsel, courts, trustees, and other foreclosure personnel.

• Work within the firm’s case management system to create, manage, and review daily and weekly reports.
• Review and execute pleadings and correspondence.
• Maintain updates in client and firm management systems.
• Outline, prepare, and present pleadings and other legal documents.
• Argue the merits of assigned cases at hearings, conferences, mediations, or trials.
• Attend and/or conduct public auctions as needed.
• Review title searches to identify title issues and proper parties to serve.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

McMichael Taylor Gray, LLC is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with experience in New York foreclosure law to join its expanding New York practice. The employee MUST BE BASED IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK. The ideal applicant will be a career-oriented professional with at least one year of experience representing creditors in commercial foreclosures and/or title proceedings. Newly admitted applicants will also be considered with a strong desire to learn these practice areas. Experience with receiverships, complex commercial foreclosure litigation, and creditor-side bankruptcy experience is strongly preferred. The applicant must have the ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, communicate professionally at all times, be effective working independently and as part of a team, and provide exceptional customer service. Leadership and management skills is a plus.

• Experience in foreclosure and real estate law a plus; if none, must be willing to learn.
