Job summary

remotepeople seeks an Associate Attorney to join a well-regarded commercial litigation practice in Boston. The candidate will handle live casework with substantial responsibility from day one, engaging in contract and partnership disputes, business torts, and complex multi-party matters.

You will gain early client contact, depose and argue motions, and have a clear path toward owning matters and later pursuing business development. MA bar eligibility and strong writing are essential.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; active Massachusetts bar license (or eligible to waive)
• 2+ years of commercial litigation experience, law firm or in-house
• Strong legal writing skills and academic credentials
• Court and deposition experience preferred; ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with seniors

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of commercial litigation—from investigation through trial preparation
• Draft pleadings, briefs, dispositive motions, and advisory memos for clients
• Represent clients in MA state and federal court, including hearings and mediations/arbitrations
• Manage discovery workflows, including e-discovery
• Conduct legal research and help shape litigation strategy with senior attorneys
• Build direct client relationships and participate in business development as the practice grows

We’re partnering with a well-regarded commercial litigation practice in Boston to identify their next Associate Attorney. This firm represents businesses across a broad range of commercial disputes and is looking for someone who can step into live casework and carry real responsibility from day one.

About the Role

The team handles sophisticated commercial litigation from first filing through trial: contract and partnership disputes, business torts, class actions, and complex multi-party commercial litigation in Massachusetts state and federal courts. Associates here get direct client contact early, real deposition and motion practice reps, and a genuine path toward owning matters rather than staying buried in document review.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of commercial litigation — investigation, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, dispositive motions, and trial preparation
• Draft pleadings, briefs, dispositive motions, and client-facing advisory memos
• Represent clients in Massachusetts state and federal court, including hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
• Manage discovery workflows, including e-discovery
• Conduct legal research and help shape litigation strategy alongside senior attorneys
• Build direct client relationships and take part in business development as your practice grows

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school; active Massachusetts bar license (or eligible to waive in)
• 2+ years of commercial litigation experience, law firm or in-house
• Demonstrated experience with one or more of: contract disputes, partnership/shareholder disputes, class actions, or complex business torts
• Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing
• Court and deposition experience strongly preferred
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while working collaboratively with senior attorneys and clients
