Metis is seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriting Specialist to join our Roanoke-based team. You will evaluate, underwrite, and manage new and renewal Commercial Property and Casualty accounts, determining pricing and coverage based on risk analysis.

Qualified candidates have 2–5 years in commercial lines underwriting, knowledge of P&C products and ISO forms, and reside in Roanoke or Richmond, VA. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and competitive salary.

• Working knowledge of commercial Property and Casualty products, underwriting guidelines, ISO manual and forms, and related rating and policy administration systems.

What You’ll Do:

• Evaluate, underwrite, and manage new and renewal Commercial Property and Casualty accounts.
• Determine pricing, classifications, and coverage based on risk analysis and supporting documentation.
• Rate and process policy issuance and servicing transactions, including quotations, new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, audits, and related policy changes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Two (2) to five (5) years of commercial lines underwriting, rating, and policy administration experience.
• Working knowledge of commercial Property and Casualty products, underwriting guidelines, ISO manual and forms, and related rating and policy administration systems.
• Located in Roanoke, VA or Richmond, VA
