Job summary

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Commercial Client Support Specialist to join our Commercial Banking team. This role acts as a specialist partner to drive processing of loan requests and support portfolio management, delivering high‑impact service with precision and urgency.

You will resolve client needs, ensure compliance with procedures, and collaborate across departments to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of administration, banking or financial services experience, or a combination.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to obtain Notary Public designation within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Commercial Lending requests and support portfolio management.
• Provide exceptional customer service to commercial clients for a positive experience.
• Support non-monetary account operations and research to ensure timely, compliant handling of transactions.
• Collaborate with Commercial Banking team to identify and address portfolio risks.
• Uphold regulatory and compliance standards and support audit readiness.
• Participate in special projects as directed by management.
• Assist in fraud risk mitigation and liaise with clients and internal teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve banking and internal processes.
