Commercial Lead – Renewable Natural Gas (Remote, U.S.)

Location: Remote | Reports to: CFO

Our client, a well-capitalized and fast-growing renewable energy company, is seeking a Commercial Lead to drive the marketing, monetization, and strategic growth of its RNG (Renewable Natural Gas) portfolio across compliance, voluntary, and emerging international markets. This is a newly created, high-impact position reporting directly to the CFO.

The successful candidate will lead commercial strategy, pricing, and offtake development efforts while interfacing across legal, finance, and operational teams. This role is ideally suited for a commercially driven professional who thrives in entrepreneurial settings and has experience monetizing RINs, LCFS, tax credits, and other low-carbon commodities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and execute commercial strategy for RNG offtake and credit monetization (RINs, LCFS, PTCs, etc.)
  • Develop partnerships with utilities, brokers, intermediaries, corporate ESG buyers, and international offtake sectors (e.g., Canada, Europe, Japan)
  • Negotiate and manage RNG offtake agreements, including contracts for gas and environmental attributes
  • Monitor and respond to regulatory changes across relevant U.S. and international markets
  • Work cross-functionally to align pricing strategy with financial forecasting and compliance

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in energy marketing, renewable fuels, environmental commodities, or gas trading
  • Demonstrated success in structuring and closing complex commercial agreements
  • Strong knowledge of RINs, LCFS, carbon offsets, and RNG market dynamics
  • Experience engaging with international markets or compliance frameworks (e.g., RED II, ISCC, CFR) is a plus
