Position Summary

The Installer reports to the Operations Manager. Located in Pittsburgh, PA, this is a full-time, in-office position. The Installer is responsible for delivering, assembling, and installing commercial kitchen equipment, including uncrating, peeling protective film, leveling, and securing equipment. The role requires mechanical aptitude, construction skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Product Handling and Unloading

• Unload trucks safely and handle products to minimize damage.
• Move equipment to designated areas for assembly and installation.

Equipment Handling and Assembly

• Assemble and set up commercial kitchen equipment per specifications and customer requirements.
• Assist with construction tasks like erecting walk-in coolers/freezers and hanging exhaust hoods.

Tool and Equipment Management

• Hold or supply tools, parts, and supplies for team members.
• Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and machines.

Logistics and Maintenance

• Load tools and equipment onto trucks securely.
• Perform daily inspections and cleaning of trucks.

Construction Support

Follow blueprints, schematics, and work orders for accurate installations.

Safety and Organization

• Adhere to safety guidelines, keep work areas clean, and organize tools and machines.
• Pass and maintain a D.O.T. medical exam.

Communication and Coordination

• Communicate effectively with Project Managers about job progress and issues.
• Track expenses and follow company procedures.

Quality Assurance & Documentation

• Inspect installations with contractors and customers for quality and satisfaction.
• Complete documentation accurately using computer tablets.

Additional Duties

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Submit timely and accurate work documentation.

Competencies

• Pass and maintain a D.O.T. medical exam.
• Understand all safety requirements and jobsite safety.
• Read and interpret specs and blueprints.
• Follow directions from project managers and superintendents.
• Excellent communication, customer service, organization, and motivation skills.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and travel as needed. Some weekends and overtime required.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent military/practical experience.
• 1-3 years in commercial construction preferred.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools, basic construction codes, and mechanical equipment.
• Basic computer skills; background check required.

Physical Requirements

• Lift 50 pounds, bend, twist, stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks as described.
