Job summary

EMCOR Group in San Leandro, CA is seeking a Commercial Journeyman Plumber – HVAC to install and repair plumbing systems across commercial facilities. You will read plans, service grease traps, and respond to tenant requests with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires a state-issued Journeyman license (Backflow certification preferred or obtainable within 6 months), 5+ years of journeyman experience in commercial/industrial settings, and strong customer-service skills.

Qualifications

• State‑issued Journeyman's license or proof of journeyman‑level skill/certification (Backflow Certification preferred or obtainable within 6 months).
• Five or more years' experience at the Journeyman level in a commercial and industrial plumbing environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and ordinances.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from plans and drawings.
• Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• Valid driver's license and meeting MVR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Repair and install all plumbing related equipment.
• Service and maintain grease traps.
• Service oil/gas separators.
• Complete all preventive maintenance (PM) and record keeping for assigned areas.
• Submit plumber's reports for all work completed.
• Respond to tenant requests for toilet/restroom repairs, clean stopped drains, and clear sewer lines that require motorized equipment.
• Respond to emergencies at any time.
• Ensure safe working conditions in all areas under control.
• Install plumbing and piping systems during all phases of construction.
• Install new construction plumbing and piping systems, including but not limited to sewer, domestic water, fuel gas, storm sewer, roof drains, and medical gas.

Compensation: $21.25 – $64.37 per hour. The hourly rate is determined by the CBA/rate sheet and test results.
