Job summary

Bopat Electric is looking for experienced Commercial Journeyman Electricians to join our Maryland construction team. You will read prints, lay out installations, and install commercial electrical systems across new construction, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and upgrades, with minimal supervision.

We value reliable, skilled tradespeople who can mentor apprentices, work with foremen and other trades, and follow NEC and safety practices. MD license and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Journeyman or Master Electrician license or reciprocal license.
• 5+ years of commercial or industrial electrical construction experience.
• Ability to read prints, perform layout, and complete installations.
• Experience with EMT and rigid conduit, feeders, panels, transformers, switchgear, terminations.
• Experience with 120/208V and 277/480V three‑phase systems.
• Knowledge of NEC and safety practices in construction.
• Ability to work independently and mentor apprentices.
• Reliable transportation and ability to report to Maryland sites.
• Valid driver's license.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial electrical systems on new construction, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and upgrades.
• Read blueprints, interpret electrical drawings, and independently lay out installations.
• Install and bend conduit, pull feeders and branch circuits, and complete wiring and terminations.
• Install panels, switchgear, transformers, lighting, power distribution, and other commercial equipment.
• Plan daily work, identify material needs, and complete installations with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with foremen, project managers, and other trades to keep projects moving.
• Mentor apprentices while maintaining quality and productivity.
• Follow NEC requirements and jobsite safety procedures.
