Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services seeks a hands-on Commercial Irrigation Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems across commercial properties in Northern Colorado, including Fort Collins.

This field-based position rewards problem-solving, independence, and reliable service, with peak-season activity from April through November and winter support. The role is on-site in Fort Collins and pays $28–$36 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in irrigation installation/maintenance/troubleshooting/repair.
• Experience with commercial irrigation systems preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial irrigation systems.
• Locate, excavate, and repair damaged pipes, valves, controllers, manifolds, and related components.
• Install new irrigation systems, including piping, valves, pumps, controllers, and electrical timers.
• Test and monitor irrigation systems to ensure proper operation and water efficiency.
• Program, manage, and adjust irrigation controllers based on seasonal and property needs.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Identify system improvements and complete repairs in a timely manner.
• Read site plans and assist with irrigation layout and installation projects.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings to customers and management.
• Build positive relationships with property managers, facility teams, and clients.
• Assist with snow removal operations and other seasonal duties as needed.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Reliable, professional, and safety-focused.
• Experience with irrigation controllers, timers, pumps, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of water management best practices.
• Landscape lighting experience is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Strong technology and mobile device proficiency.

Seasonal Schedule

This position is busiest during peak season from April through November, with full-time hours available throughout that period. During the winter months, efforts are made to keep team members working approximately 32 hours per week by supporting snow removal operations, winter property services, and other seasonal projects.

This is a temp to hire position, fully on site in Fort Collins and Northern Colorado projects, paying between $28-36 an hour.
