Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking an experienced HVAC Lab Technician (Commercial HVAC Testing) to support testing, evaluation, and validation of large-scale cooling systems in a fast-paced lab setting.

The role involves installing instrumentation, running performance tests, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and ensuring equipment meets quality standards before deployment. Onsite work with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional overtime. Benefits include ESPP, 401K, and HSA options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5+ years servicing, maintaining, or troubleshooting commercial HVAC equipment.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration principles, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Experience in testing, laboratory, industrial, or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and execute HVAC equipment testing, including installation of instrumentation such as flow meters, pressure sensors, and temperature sensors.
• Monitor and analyze data acquisition systems during testing operations.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
• Work safely with high‑voltage electrical systems and refrigerant‑based equipment.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory measurement equipment for pressure, temperature, flow, and electrical testing.
• Operate and monitor support infrastructure, including hydronic pumping systems, cooling towers, and boilers.
• Diagnose and support PLCs, VFDs, sensors, valves, and control systems.
• Follow all environmental, health, safety, lockout/tagout, arc flash, and workplace safety requirements.
• Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives within the lab environment.
