Job summary

BGIS Integrated Technical Services (ITS) in Portland, OR is seeking a Commercial HVAC Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems for commercial facilities. You will perform inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and equipment changeouts, while delivering excellent customer service and precise record-keeping.

Qualifications

• EPA Certification required.
• 2–5 years of experience in Commercial HVAC and refrigeration.
• Experience servicing, installing, and troubleshooting: commercial HVAC, refrigeration, ice machines; chillers and related equipment.

• Pay: $35–$50/hr. ($72,800–$104,000/ annually based off a 40 Hr. work week); Overtime when authorized by Leadership
• On-Call Pay: $150 per scheduled on-call shift

What You’ll Do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems (air handlers, boilers, chillers, ice machines).
• Perform inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and equipment changeouts.
• Provide excellent customer service and accurate record-keeping.
• Use company tools: service van, iPad, iPhone.

Skills

• Service and install new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Service and install new ice machines.
• Do routine maintenance on ice machines and refrigeration.
• Assess and troubleshoot commercial HVAC to determine required repairs.
• Inspect and perform equipment repair and replacements.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and recommend preventative repairs to avoid unplanned downtime.
• Respond to emergency service requests.
• Provides observations about facility, facility mechanical conditions and deficiencies and provides recommendations for enhancement and repair.
• Participates in and assists with facility-related projects.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Able to work on lite commercial equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Completes paperwork in a timely manner.
• Reports to job assignment and work in a timely manner
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience with industry software preferable but not required.

Qualifications

Required:

• EPA Certification
• 2-5 years of experience in Commercial HVAC and refrigeration
• Proficiency in servicing, installing, and troubleshooting:
  • Commercial HVAC systems
  • Refrigeration systems and ice machines
  • Chillers, cooling towers, water source heat pumps

Physical Requirements:

• Climb ladders while carrying up to 30 lbs.
• Lift up to 75 lbs. and work in confined spaces
• Wear required PPE

Additional Requirements:

• Willingness to work overtime and travel as needed
• Ability to meet security clearance requirements
• Pass drug, background, and driver’s license checks

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Familiarity with light commercial equipment
• Experience with industry software (a plus)
