Job summary

Jobot in Washington, DC area seeks a Lead Commercial HVAC Operations professional to lead technical and operational activities for a large-scale facility. You will oversee HVAC technicians and leads, coordinate daily maintenance, and troubleshoot complex equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of commercial HVAC experience, EPA refrigerant certification, and a proven leadership track record.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Commercial HVAC experience with leadership or supervisory roles.
• Experience leading HVAC Technicians, Leads, or Mechanical Maintenance personnel.
• Strong knowledge of chillers, cooling towers, refrigeration, heat pumps, and air distribution.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, controls, and piping systems.
• Strong background in Preventative Maintenance and HVAC Operations.
• Experience coordinating Work Orders, technician assignments, and maintenance priorities.
• EPA Refrigerant Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational leadership for HVAC and mechanical systems within a large-scale facility.

Job Details

As a Commercial HVAC Supervisor, you will provide technical and operational leadership for HVAC and Mechanical Systems within a large-scale facility. You will oversee HVAC Technicians and Leads, coordinate daily maintenance activities, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and help ensure Mechanical Systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.

This role is ideal for an experienced Commercial HVAC professional who combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to lead people, prioritize work, and improve equipment performance.

MUST HAVE:

• 10+ years of Commercial HVAC experience, including Leadership or Supervisory responsibilities
• Experience leading HVAC Technicians, Leads, or Mechanical Maintenance personnel
• Strong knowledge of Chillers, Cooling Towers, Refrigeration, Heat Pumps, and Air Distribution Systems
• Experience troubleshooting Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Piping Systems
• Strong background in Preventative Maintenance and HVAC Operations
• Experience coordinating Work Orders, technician assignments, and maintenance priorities
• EPA Refrigerant Certification

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) or Building Automation Systems (BAS)
• Knowledge of HVAC Controls and Energy Management Systems
• Experience using CMMS platforms
• Background supporting large Commercial, Institutional, Campus, Healthcare, or similar Facilities
• Experience coordinating outside Vendors and Mechanical Contractors
• Experience supporting Equipment Upgrades, Renovations, or Energy Efficiency initiatives
• Degree or technical education in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field
