As a Serviceman with Carrier, you will impact our customers by ensuring their comfort and representing our confidence in service. You will have the opportunity to learn about Commercial HVAC and participate in various installation, repair, and maintenance projects. This role offers a chance to work both independently and collaboratively, ideal for someone passionate about their trade and eager to develop their skills.
Carrier values partnerships with Union workers and offers paid travel time, along with an on-call schedule that promotes work-life balance, with rotations approximately every 7-8 weeks in most locations.
High School Diploma/GED
3+ years practical experience in the HVAC industry
Ability to join or be enrolled in the Union Apprentice Program
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work on rooftops
Ability to stand, crawl, sit, and squat for extended periods
Valid driver’s license and insurability
Inspect and maintain air-conditioning units
Perform scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
Install, replace, or repair HVAC equipment and calibrate controls
Install new HVAC systems and repair existing parts
Monitor system pressures and service refrigeration equipment
Maintain water systems and electrical controls
Assemble ductwork and assist in planning new installations
Maintain records per regulations and perform additional duties as needed
Identify and mitigate safety risks, collaborating with management to ensure safety
HVAC principles, safety practices, and controls
Refrigeration and safety data sheets
Electrical systems, sheet metal, plumbing, carpentry
Building automation controls
