Job summary

Engert Mechanical is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, maintain, and optimize commercial HVAC equipment while delivering exceptional service.

You will work independently with the support of a skilled service team, tackling rooftop units, boilers, chillers, VAV systems, and related controls. Join a company that values craftsmanship and ongoing training, offering stability and a clear path for career growth.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• EPA Universal (608) Certification is required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the service team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, air handlers, VAV systems, and related controls.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control system issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and recommend system improvements.
• Complete equipment startups, commissioning, and performance testing.
• Build strong relationships with customers through professional communication and technical expertise.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and repair recommendations.
• Support and mentor apprentices and developing technicians.
• Work safely following company standards and applicable codes.

What You'll Do

As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you'll independently diagnose, repair, maintain, and optimize commercial HVAC equipment while providing exceptional service to our customers.

Your responsibilities include:

• Troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, air handlers, VAV systems, and associated controls
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control system issues
• Perform preventive maintenance and recommend system improvements
• Complete equipment startups, commissioning, and performance testing
• Build strong relationships with customers through professional communication and technical expertise
• Maintain accurate service documentation and repair recommendations
• Support and mentor apprentices and developing technicians
• Perform work safely while following company standards and applicable codes

What We're Looking For

We're seeking experienced technicians who enjoy solving problems, take pride in quality workmanship, and work well independently.

Qualifications include

• Five or more years of commercial HVAC service experience
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
• Experience servicing commercial HVAC equipment and controls
• EPA Universal (608) Certification
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the service team

Preferred Qualifications

• NATE Certification
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• Factory or manufacturer certifications
• Experience with BAS or building automation systems
• Experience mentoring apprentices or junior technicians
