Job summary

Energy Transfer Solutions is seeking a Commercial HVAC Service Technician in Cleveland, OH. Under the Service General Manager, you will install, service and start up a range of HVAC systems, diagnose issues, and ensure peak performance for commercial and industrial clients.

You will handle preventative maintenance, energy optimization, and customer communications while adhering to safety standards and on-call rotation requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of commercial HVAC service experience (VRF, rooftops, packaged units).
• EPA Universal Certification required; OEM-specific training or certifications preferred.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC systems using manuals and schematics.
• Strong communication and customer service skills; professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, and optimize commercial HVAC systems; perform preventative maintenance.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients; address service concerns and provide updates.
• Coordinate with internal teams for scheduling and follow-up; complete service reports and work orders.
• Provide mentorship to junior technicians when needed.
• Follow OSHA safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Service, Troubleshooting & Optimization – Diagnose and resolve issues on a variety of commercial HVAC systems. Perform preventative maintenance and fine-tune system performance for energy efficiency and reliability.
• Customer Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong client relationships by addressing service concerns, recommending improvements, and delivering high-quality communication and support.
• Communication & Documentation – Coordinate with internal teams to ensure efficient scheduling and follow-up. Accurately complete service reports, work orders, and related documentation in a timely manner.
• Training & Mentorship – Stay up to date through ongoing technical training. Serve as a resource and occasional mentor to junior technicians in the field.
• Safety & Compliance – Follow all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements as outlined by OSHA, the company, and customer sites.
• Emergency Response – Participate in the on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for urgent service needs.
• Other Duties as Assigned – Contribute to the team and company by stepping in where needed

Experience & Requirements:

• 3–5 years of commercial HVAC service experience with systems such as VRF, rooftop units, and packaged equipment.
• EPA Universal Certification required; OEM-specific training or certifications preferred.
• Skilled in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and interpreting service manuals and schematics.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with a professional, team-focused mindset.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; able to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Physically capable of lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in various field conditions, including rooftops and tight spaces.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service coverage.
