Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial HVAC equipment such as chillers, pumps, cooling towers, split systems, package units, and boilers
- Train and mentor other technicians, demonstrating leadership skills
- Work knowledge of air- and water-cooled HVAC equipment
- Perform service on VFDs, motor starters, pumps, and motors
- Troubleshoot hydronic systems, including boiler systems and steam
- Knowledge of York, Trane, and Carrier microprocessors
- Maintain proper use and accounting of company property, vehicles, and tools
- Represent the company professionally and ethically
- Follow procedures for vehicle and inventory management
- Perform other duties as assigned and maintain reliable attendance
Health & Safety Roles and Responsibilities
- Report unsafe acts, conditions, hazards, injuries, or incidents immediately
- Correct substandard acts or conditions within your control
- Use and maintain PPE as prescribed
- Operate equipment following safety procedures
- Participate in safety initiatives and committees
- Comply with legislative requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, with additional training and at least 10 years of HVAC experience and certification
- Valid licensing or certification as required by local laws
- Skills in refrigerant piping, evacuation, and charging
- Experience with HVAC startup and commissioning
- Ability to use instruments for pressure, voltage, amperage, GPM, etc.
- Experience with calcium abatement, refrigerant monitor maintenance, purge systems, and large load rigging
- Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of electrical systems
- EPA Universal License for refrigerant handling
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and field laptop use
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work flexible hours and on-call shifts
- Physical ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 75 pounds, and operate in various environmental conditions
