Job summary

RSC Mechanical is seeking experienced Refrigeration Service Technicians to join our expanding team. A family-owned commercial service company, we operate across the United States and emphasize career growth, training, and supportive leadership.

Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and servicing commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment, with some travel. The role requires EPA certification, a valid license, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• EPA Universal Certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Experience with HVAC and commercial refrigeration is preferred.
• Strong communication with clients and team; able to work under pressure.
• Tools are supplied by the technician when needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and service commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment (walk-ins, reach-ins, racks, ice machines).
• Respond to emergency service calls as needed.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control systems with confidence.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on commercial refrigeration systems.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics.

Job Responsibilities

• Install,maintain, and servicecommercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment, including walk-ins, reach-ins, rack systems, and ice machines.
• Preferred hands-on experience with CO₂ refrigeration rack systems, including transcritical and subcritical systems.
• Respond to emergency service calls as needed
• Troubleshootelectrical, mechanical, and control systemswith confidence and precision.
• Perform repairs andpreventative maintenanceon commercial refrigeration systems.
• Prioritize safety by securing work areas, shutting down power when necessary, andidentifyingtheroot cause of system failures.
• Handle and manage refrigerants safely in compliance withEPA regulations.
• Read and interprettechnical diagrams, manuals, and schematics.
• Repair and replace compressors, motors, fans, and other critical components.
• Provide professional and reliable service duringemergency service calls.
• Work withEMS systems, including CPC, Tracer, and HMI.
• Collaborate with customers, dispatch, and fellow technicians to ensure aseamless service experience.
• Accurately log service reports usingmobile and digital platforms.
• Communicate professionally with store managers, supervisors, and team members.
• Complete all required paperwork, includingwork tickets and timesheets, accurately and on time.
• Deliver high-level customer service to retail and commercial clients, includingrestaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, schools, hotels, hospitals, and military bases.
• Performadditionalduties asassigned by management.

Qualifications

• EPA Universal Certification (required)
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; extensive driving is a key part of the role
• Experience and working knowledge of HVAC and commercial refrigeration preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Technicians are expected to supply their own standard hand tools.
• Ability to complete necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
• Strong communication skills with clients, team members, and management
• Able to work under pressure in fast-paced or high-stress environments
• Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team
• Indoor and outdoor work with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, mechanical/electrical hazards, and weather
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, crouch, and occasionally climb stairs or ladders
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Frequent driving of motor vehicles

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Overtime may be required based on workload
• Participation in an on-call rotation following the training period. Must be available and responsive during assigned on-call shifts.
