Job summary

DOC Services Inc. is seeking skilled Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration Technicians in Birmingham, AL. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC units and light refrigeration equipment, troubleshoot electrical components, and document activities.

This role requires OSHA safety adherence and a valid driver’s license. Ideal candidates have EPA certification, 4+ years of experience, and the ability to work flexible hours with on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• EPA Certification required.
• Minimum 4 years in Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration.
• Willingness to cross-train on additional equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Proficiency with MS Office and phone apps.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on Commercial HVAC units and light commercial refrigeration equipment.
• Troubleshoot electronic and electrical components; locate the source of problems.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools.
• Provide daily reports and communicate with store managers, DOC Supervisor, and office administrator.
• Adhere to OSHA and DOC safety regulations.
• Maintain company vehicles, supplies, and parts inventory.
• Other duties as required.

As part of our continued growth, we are hiring skilled Commercial HVAC/ Refrigeration Technicians. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on Commercial HVAC Units and light commercial refrigeration equipment.

Essential Functions:

• Performing preventative maintenance and repairs on Commercial HVAC Units and light commercial refrigeration equipment
• Troubleshooting the electronic and electrical components; locating the source of the problem
• Removing defective parts by dismantling devices, using hand and power tools
• Providing daily reports and communicating regularly with store managers, the regional DOC Supervisor, and the assigned office administrator
• Adhering to OSHA and DOC safety regulations
• Maintaining company vehicles including supplies and parts inventory
• Other Duties as Required

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• EPA Certification Required
• Minimum of 4 years experience in Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration
• Ability and desire to be cross-trained on additional equipment
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Proficiency with MS Office products and advanced Phone Apps
• Ability to provide own set of basic tools
• Ability to work flexible hours and be on call as needed (rotating weekends)

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: This position will require you to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work in various environments, including construction sites, rooftops, and crawl spaces. Must be able to climb ladders, and lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) as required by the role.
