Job summary

RSC Mechanical is seeking experienced Refrigeration Service Technicians to install, maintain and repair commercial refrigeration systems across the United States. The role requires EPA Universal Certification, a valid driver’s license, and ownership of standard hand tools.

Candidates should be capable of diagnosing mechanical/electrical issues, performing preventative maintenance, handling refrigerants per EPA rules, and documenting work accurately. Travel across the U.S.

Qualifications

• EPA Universal Certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record is required; extensive driving is part of the role.
• Technicians are expected to supply their own standard hand tools.
• Strong communication with clients, team members and management is essential.
• Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration systems (walk-ins, reach-ins, ice machines, parallel rack systems).
• Preferred experience with CO₂ refrigeration rack systems and transcritical/subcritical operations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and system checks.
• Handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations.
• Read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals; replace compressors, motors, fans and other components.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team; maintain service records and documentation.
• Respond to emergency service calls as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration systems (walk-ins, reach-ins, ice machines, parallel rack systems, etc.)
• Preferred experience with CO₂ refrigeration rack systems, including hands‑on work with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of transcritical and subcritical systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and system checks
• Handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
• Replace or repair compressors, motors, fans, and other key components
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation
• Respond to emergency service calls as needed

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of commercial HVAC/refrigeration systems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; extensive driving is a key part of the role.
• Technicians are expected to supply their own standard hand tools.
• Ability to complete necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Strong communication skills with clients, team members, and management.
• Able to work under pressure in fast‑paced or high‑stress environments.
• Self‑starter who can work independently and as part of a team.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Overtime may be required based on workload
• Participation in an on‑call rotation following the training period
