Job summary

Modern Mechanical Services LLC is seeking a Commercial HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial buildings. You will diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure systems meet safety and efficiency standards.

A strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with diagnostic tools are essential, along with the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVACR experience preferred.
• EPA Certification and valid state registrations required.
• Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing issues with HVAC and refrigeration systems through observation, testing, and setup procedures.
• Disassemble and reassemble commercial HVACR equipment to perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment to service equipment and mechanical systems.
• Complete electronic documentation of service tasks, materials used, and labor hours.
• Explain service charges and work performed to customers' satisfaction.
• Maintain inventory stock on service vehicles.
• Reconcile work order documents, vendor packing slips, and weekly timesheets for supervisor review.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• At least 5 years of commercial HVACR experience preferred
• Valid A or B HVACR license is preferred.
• Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications for proper installation and repair.
• Valid EPA Certification and required state registrations.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, or kneeling, lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather both indoors and outdoors: this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
