Job Title: Commercial HVAC Mechanic, Steel Metals, Controls, Setup Prints – Working Foreman/Journeyman

Location: Hernando, MS / Memphis area

Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced Commercial HVAC Mechanics, Journeymen, and Working Foremen with expertise in steel metals, controls, and reading setup prints to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and managing a team for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting commercial HVAC systems, supervising work crews, and ensuring projects are completed according to specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. HVAC Installation & Maintenance:
   • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, including air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and refrigeration units.
   • Diagnose and repair HVAC systems and components, such as compressors, motors, and controls.
   • Perform routine maintenance and service on HVAC systems to ensure optimal operation.
2. Steel Metals & Ductwork:
   • Fabricate and install sheet metal ductwork for HVAC systems according to setup prints and project specifications.
   • Measure, cut, bend, and assemble steel and metal components for HVAC installation and repair.
   • Ensure all metal work is completed to high standards, meeting safety and building code requirements.
3. Controls & Automation:
   • Install and configure HVAC controls, including Building Automation Systems (BAS).
   • Work with advanced control systems for HVAC operations to enhance energy efficiency and system performance.
   • Troubleshoot and repair control systems to ensure smooth operation and comfort for commercial environments.
4. Reading Setup Prints & Technical Drawings:
   • Interpret setup prints, blueprints, and technical drawings for commercial HVAC systems and metalwork.
   • Sketch ductwork for fabrication.
   • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and ensure precise installations.
5. Supervisory (Working Foreman Role):
   • Organize, lead, and manage a team of HVAC mechanics and apprentices, ensuring they meet project deadlines and quality standards.
   • Oversee job site safety, tool and equipment management, and effective use of manpower with clear communication.
   • Provide guidance and hands-on support to the team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and according to the project plan.
   • Track and manage personnel and resources using electronic tools such as Procore, BuildOps, Outlook.
6. Journeyman Responsibilities (if applicable):
   • Perform all duties expected of a Journeyman, including working independently or as part of a crew.
   • Mentor apprentices and ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years in commercial HVAC installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program.
• Licensing/Certifications: Valid HVAC certification and relevant journeyman or foreman certification (if applicable).
• Proficiency in reading setup prints, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Experience in steel and sheet metal fabrication and installation.
• Familiarity with HVAC control systems and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Strong leadership skills for applicants to the Working Foreman role.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work in various commercial environments (rooftops, mechanical rooms, etc.).
• Good communication skills.
• Spanish or other bilingual skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
• Work in confined spaces, high areas, and in varying weather conditions.
• Stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
