Job summary

Century Mechanical Holdings in Pompano Beach, FL seeks an experienced Commercial HVAC Maintenance Technician to service and maintain commercial heating and cooling systems, with a focus on water-source heat pumps. The ideal candidate will perform preventative maintenance, inspect and troubleshoot RTUs, split systems and air handlers, read wiring diagrams, and communicate findings to customers and management.

EPA 608 certification and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience in commercial HVAC maintenance.
• Hands-on work with water-source heat pumps required.

• Ability to read manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC systems.
• Inspect, service and maintain water-source heat pumps, RTUs, split systems and air handlers.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues.
• Clean and replace filters, belts, coils, motors and other HVAC components.
• Check refrigerant pressures, electrical connections, airflow and system performance.
• Inspect condensate drains, pumps and related components.
• Identify potential failures and recommend repairs.
• Complete maintenance checklists, service reports and work orders.
• Communicate conditions and repair recommendations to customers and management.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and codes.
• Maintain tools, equipment and service vehicles.
• Provide professional customer service on site.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Commercial HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our growing team in Pompano Beach, FL.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial HVAC preventative maintenance, with hands-on experience servicing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining commercial heating and cooling systems.

Experience with water-source heat pumps is required.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, understands commercial HVAC equipment, and takes pride in providing quality service while keeping systems operating efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
• Inspect, service, and maintain water-source heat pumps, rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, air handlers, and other commercial HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues.
• Clean and replace filters, belts, coils, motors, and other HVAC components.
• Check refrigerant pressures, electrical connections, airflow, and overall system performance.
• Inspect condensate drains, pumps, and associated HVAC components.
• Identify potential equipment failures and recommend necessary repairs.
• Perform minor repairs and assist with larger repairs as needed.
• Complete preventative maintenance checklists, service reports, and work orders accurately.
• Communicate equipment conditions, repair recommendations, and maintenance findings to customers and management.
• Ensure all work complies with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and applicable codes.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicles.
• Provide professional customer service while working at commercial properties.

Requirements

• Previous commercial HVAC maintenance experience required.
• Hands-on experience with water-source heat pumps required.
• Experience maintaining commercial rooftop units, split systems, and air handlers.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC preventative maintenance procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration components.
• EPA 608 Certification required.
• Experience using HVAC diagnostic tools, gauges, meters, and testing equipment.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned maintenance schedules.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, access rooftops, and work in various weather conditions.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality workmanship.
