Perfection Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration in Evansville, IN seeks a Commercial HVAC Lead Installation Technician to install and service systems in residential and commercial settings. You will read blueprints, assemble components, and ensure proper operation while delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires 1–3 years of installation experience, HVAC certification, and strong mechanical/electrical aptitude. A valid driver’s license and safety adherence are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-3 years of HVAC installation experience (residential and/or commercial).
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• HVAC Certification and EPA certification a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass MVR checks.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and adhere to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC equipment including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, RTUs, and mini-splits.
• Read blueprints and manuals to plan installations and ensure compliance.
• Assemble, mount, and secure components with proper alignment and operation.
• Connect wiring, piping, ducting, and refrigerant lines per codes and specs.
• Test systems for safety, efficiency, and proper operation.
• Diagnose installation issues and adjust as needed.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas during and after work.
• Communicate with customers about operation, maintenance, and warranty.
• Collaborate with team, PMs, and other trades to complete projects on time.
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good condition.

Overview

The Commercial HVAC Lead Installation Technician is responsible for installing heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems in residential and commercial settings. This role ensures that HVAC systems are installed according to manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company standards while delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, rooftop units (RTUs), and mini-splits
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to plan and execute installations
• Assemble, mount, and secure HVAC components, ensuring proper alignment and operation
• Connect electrical wiring, piping, ducting, and refrigerant lines according to manufacturer specifications and local codes
• Test installed systems for proper operation, efficiency, and safety
• Diagnose and troubleshoot installation issues, and adjust as needed
• Ensure all work areas are clean and safe during and after installations
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding system operation, maintenance, and warranty information
• Collaborate with team members, project managers, and other trades to ensure timely and accurate project completion
• Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working order

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-3 years of HVAC installation experience (residential and/or commercial)
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• HVAC Certification (Technical school certification preferred)
• EPA Certification a plus
• Valid Driver’s License with ability to pass company’s MVR requirements
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly and adhere to all safety guidelines
• Familiarity with building codes, HVAC equipment manufacturers, and industry standards
