Job summary

Marick Mechanical, an Orion Services Group company, is seeking a Commercial HVAC Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial HVAC construction and small projects in Omaha, NE. You will evaluate documents, develop labor/material estimates, analyze vendor pricing, and drive proposals aligned with margin expectations from bid through closeout.

The role partners with Sales, Operations, Project Management, and field leadership to ensure disciplined estimate-to-execution transitions,

Qualifications

• Experience estimating commercial HVAC or mechanical construction costs.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, bid documents, and contract requirements.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, construction methods, and cost data.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings and bid documents to establish scope and assumptions.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimates.
• Solicit quotations and evaluate pricing, lead times, and terms.
• Prepare bid proposals with qualifications, alternates, and exclusions.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and customer discussions.
• Apply labor factors, pricing, contingency, overhead, and margins to estimates.
• Maintain organized estimating files and data for traceability.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and field leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide estimating support during project execution for scope revisions and change orders.
