Job summary

Newcomb and Company in Raleigh, NC, seeks an experienced HVAC Sheet Metal Welder & Installer to fabricate, weld, and install commercial duct systems according to blueprints and project specifications. The role supports layout, field installation, equipment setup, safety compliance, and coordination with supervisors and other trades.

Strong welding skills, physical capability, and the ability to manage tools, materials, and documentation on active jobsites are required.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of commercial sheet metal installation experience.
Experience using electrical and manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, grinders, hammer drills, etc.).
Ability to weld to B31.1 standard.
Welding experience on mechanical systems (chilled water, hot water, steam, condensate).
Proficiency in Carbon Steel Stick Welding (6010/7018).
Preferred experience in Carbon Steel MIG and Stainless Steel TIG welding.

Responsibilities

Lay out mechanical systems, supports, and related equipment according to blueprints.
Install commercial mechanical systems, including packaged rooftop units, split systems, central air handling units, ventilation.
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead).
Prepare parts using angle grinders.
Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, and other trades.
