About This Role

As an Apprentice with Carrier, you will impact our customers by ensuring their comfort and learning about Commercial HVAC. You will work on installations, repairs, and maintenance projects, collaborating with a team or individually. This is ideal for someone passionate about their trade and eager to advance their skills.

Carrier values its union partnerships, offering paid travel time, and maintains an on-call schedule for better work-life balance, with rotations every 7-8 weeks.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 3+ years HVAC industry experience
• Ability to join or be enrolled in the Union Apprentice Program
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work on rooftops
• Ability to stand, crawl, sit, squat for extended periods
• Valid driver’s license and insurability

Essential Tasks

• Inspect and maintain air-conditioning units
• Perform scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units
• Diagnose malfunctions, install and repair HVAC systems, calibrate controls
• Inspect pressure systems, maintain water supply systems, adjust electrical controls
• Assemble ductwork, assist in planning new installations
• Maintain records, recognize hazards, collaborate on safety

Knowledge of

• HVAC principles, safety practices, controls, and safety data sheets
• Electrical systems, sheet metal, plumbing, carpentry, building automation
